摘  要:  My lecture is based on the joint works with E. Viehweg and the on going joint program with J. Lu and S-L. Tan.  The lecture contains three parts:

1. I shall explain briefly Hodge structure, Variation of Hodge structure and the associated Higgs bundle.

2. Constructing Higgs bundle arising from Kodaira-Spencer map on the relative cohomologies (of any degree) of the relative tangent sheaf attached to a family of polarized manifolds. The negativity of the kernel of the Higgs field will be discussed.

3. As application of the part 1-2 we finally show the Hyperbolicity, the generalized form of Yau's form Schwarz forthe moduli stacks of polarized manifolds and the canonical class inequality.
