提要: The quantum groups in the title are one parameter deformations of universal enveloping algebras of simple Lie algebras.

The following topics will be discussed.

(1) Representations of quivers as motivation for the introduction of quantum groups.

(2) Definition of a quantum group, its integral form, its braid group action.

(3) Canonical bases arising from quantum groups.

(4) Applications of the canonical bases to the study of total positivity.
