The Department of Mathematics at NUS has been established since 1929. It has about 60 faculty members and it offers a wide selection of courses in undergraduate and graduate level covering wide areas of mathematical sciences. It has been ranked 1st among Asian Universities and top 30 worldwide in 2014 QS World University Ranking. For more information about the department, please refer to:

The department recruits good students for its PhD programme with full scholarship in all areas of mathematics. It has a very stimulating research environment and many very active faculty members in research. For more details about research areas and the faculty members, please refer to:

The scholarship includes tuition fee waiver + S$2000 stipend per month before passing qualifying exam (QE) (and S$2500 stipend per month after passing QE). For very good students, the department can admit you into its PhD programme with TOEFL and GRE waived, i.e. if you are a very good student, you may be admitted into our PhD programme even though you do NOT take TOEFL and GRE tests!! For top students, our department will recommend you to be considered for the very prestigious President's Graduate Fellowship (PGF). For details about the PGF, please refer to:
