摘要：After briefly recalling the theory of isomonodromic deformations and tau functions, I will explain how to interpret certain matrix integrals as tau functions. Interestingly this is applied in one direction (from matrix integrals to tau functions) in the examples of the Kontsevich-Witten and Brezin-Gross-Witten tau function, but can also be applied in the opposite direction (from tau functions to matrix integrals) in other cases (e.g. the Gromov-Witten theory of P^1).
