报告题目：A Journey through Scientific Discoveries 科学发现之旅

报告摘要：

Throughout history, scientific discoveries developed in several cultural contexts have taken different forms.

Through some examples of historic significance – mostly taken from Mathematics and Natural Sciences, the journey proposed aims to show how scientific knowledge constitutes itself, thanks to the ingenuity and the hard, and some time audacious, work of many.

Each example will allow to draw a lesson that helps to underscore conditions for the scientific method to be consolidated and for scientific discoveries to be recognized, leading to a permanent restructuration of the scientific community.

At any given moment, having available new technical tools often plays a key role in enabling further developments. These do not happen without raising some controversies, some coming from the society at large but some also from within the scientific community itself.
